New Role For Robert
Clyde FC are delighted to announce the appointment of Robert Hannah to a newly created role of General Manager.
Robert has been affiliated to the club for three years and most recently occupied the position as Head of Matchday Operations at Broadwood.
He began his career as a professional footballer by joining Celtic as a youngster, where his contemporaries included Tommy Burns, before moving on to Ayr United.
However, he was forced to give up the game at a relatively early age through injury, but has continued to maintain his connections with the game in Scotland. It was this combination of a professional football background, allied to the business acumen he later gained which attracted the Clyde Board to the Livingston based Hannah.
Club Secretary and Director, John Taylor, spoke to www.clydefc.co.uk tonight:
“We’re delighted to have concluded this move, as is Robert. He knows the areas where the club needs to strengthen and has developed very strong working relationships with a number of the key operational players including Broadwood Stadium, Strathclyde Police and the security providers on matchdays. He has a great affinity for Clyde and is highly respected by everyone at the club.
“New Chairman Ian Letham has already alluded to the need for such an appointment and it marks another important step in our restructuring. Having appointed former player Martin O’Neill in early summer to drive our commercial activities our objective is to provide the manager with the strongest possible support going forward.
“Robert will provide a presence at Broadwood on a day-to-day basis and we can’t underestimate the impact that will have. He will primarily deal with the operational side of the club but also tie in with Martin on the commercial front and with Colin in footballing activities.”
