Livingston 4 v 2 Clyde

Clyde were mauled in the Lions’ den today by four goals to two. It was a match that started so well but finished with the team reduced to nine men as Clyde sunk to defeat.

David McGowan scored first for The Bully Wee in the 15th minute but the joy of the travelling support was short lived as Livi hit back quickly with a goal from Pesir.

The main turning point of the match arrived in the 42nd minute as MacLennan was adjudged to have committed a professional foul and, from being level three minutes from the half-time break, Clyde found themselves 2-1 down and reduced to ten men. Dave MacKay was the man who converted from the spot.

The second half was an uphill struggle with further Livi goals from Craig and Fox.

A late strike from the penalty spot by Dougie Imrie was little consolation for The Bully Wee, whose misery was compounded when Christian Smith was sent off late on for a second bookable offence. A ball winning challenge was deemed too strong by the referee and the English midfielder had earlier been shown a yellow card for winning a header.

Clyde, however, have little time to feel sorry for themselves as they must now lick their wounds quickly with a vital clash at Stirling looming next Saturday.
