Just Champion For Craig

The Champions League was the focus for many last night but for Clyde supporters there was a more important event. The Bully Wee took part in a closed door match with Queen’s Park and it saw the return of popular defender Craig McKeown to match action.

The centre half, who won the Player of the Year award for his consistent efforts in the 2006/07 season, took part for the full 90 minutes and certainly got a good workout against the Second Division side at a rain soaked Broadwood.

The game finished as a 1-1 draw with Evangelino Valentim scoring for Clyde. The result however was unimportant as manager Hendry took the opportunity to field a number of trialists, youth players and a few players who have been on the fringe of first team action of late.
