Williams’ Return?

Joe Miller commented tonight on the possibility of a sensational return to the club of former striker Alex Williams. “I know all about Alex and his ability to score goals and things have not worked out for him since he left the club in the summer.”

Joe said, “Alex came back to Scotland and didn’t settle at Ross County. He knows that our style suits him and he asked after being released from County to come back and train with the squad and I was happy to let him do so.”

“This week has certainly been out of the ordinary with the number of enforced absences that we have to cope with and I’m sure Alex would help us out if asked.”

Joe continued, “I’ve spoken to the SFA and SFL this afternoon to seek clarification and guidance in respect of all the rules regarding the possibility of fielding a trialist tomorrow but I will see how things stand with the squad tomorrow. Nothing is confirmed yet.”

“If Alex were to feature then of course it is an opportunity for him to shine and get back playing on a regular basis. He is a natural goalscorer. If he was to score and make a positive impact then he would certainly give us something to think about as regards extending his stay beyond any trial period.”

“So it could well be a chance for him and we’ll see what happens.”
