Signing Spree

Clyde have been involved in a flurry of signing activity over the last 24 hours. Graham Roberts has concluded no less than ten deals! Graham has taken his time to assemble a squad that he believes can challenge in the First Division this season and he is delighted with the players that have committed themselves to the Bully Wee.

Goalkeeper Paul Jarvie 23, has joined from Dundee United after impressing in training and in his performance earlier in the week against Livingston. The defence was further strengthened with the formalities being completed on the deal to bring Neil McGregor 20, to Clyde from Kilmarnock. McGregor has certainly displayed great skill and composure since his introduction to the team leaving few people surprised that at one point this summer his former Killie coach Iain Durrant was interested in taking him to Rangers.

Up front Alex Williams 22, has joined from Morton. Williams will be eager to get back to playing regular first team football and rediscovering his goalscoring form. The evidence from Wednesday’s match is that he will certainly get that chance. Other signings include Steve Masterton 20, a forward also from Kilmarnock, midfielder John Paul McKeever 20, who was a regular in last season’s under 19 side and finally player/assistant boss Joe Miller 37, was also officially registered as a player.

Graham also concluded deals to bring youngsters Paul Flaherty 17, Robert Harris 17, Sean McKenna 18 and Raymond Inglis 17, to the club completing a hectic 24 hours.
