Another Positive Day
Today marked another batch of positive news for Clyde supporters and Director John Ruddy was delighted with the progress being made behind the scenes at Broadwood. “All of our efforts have the single goal in mind of boosting our income to support Graham in improving the squad and we are pleased with the result of our work to date.”
News this morning broke of a new sponsorship deal from a Dubai property company whose owner is Cumbernauld born Ray Hogan, a personal friend of Joe Miller. John was reticent to go into too much detail. “A full announcement will be forthcoming when Ray returns to Scotland soon but needless to say we are delighted with this new partnership.”
A further boost to the club was the commitment to the club of car dealership Verve. John continued: “Verve have actually only been in existence since 1999 but are now one of the biggest Volkswagen dealerships in the UK and it is fantastic that they are supporting Clyde by giving Graham and Joe two top of the range cars.” John is also hopeful that a further announcement could be forthcoming from this sponsorship deal very soon.
The biggest eye raiser this morning was the news that Gordon Parks had returned to Broadwood! The Kirkintilloch-based journalist featured for Clyde a few
“Gordon is well known to all Clyde fans and I’m sure they will welcome him back,” John commented. “Parksie will join in training on a regular basis and will be writing an exclusive column for the Daily Record based on his experiences with the Bully Wee.”
“The SFA made a requirement that Gordon had to sign for the club so that they had jurisdiction over his articles,” explained John. “A return to first team action for Parksie may seem like mission impossible but who knows! We’ll wait to see if he can make a fairy tale return. He’s definitely keen to score more goals than Joe! One thing is certain though and that is that Clyde will get fantastic exposure. We are thankful to the Daily Record for this and as we work to raise the profile of the Club this can only be a good thing for the Bully Wee.”
