Ready For It!

The Clyde website briefly caught up with Manager Graham Roberts this evening in what must have been one of the busiest twenty-four hours since his reign at Clyde started. “The signing of Gary Arbuckle completes the squad. I’ve been told that’s my budget used so as I’ve said before I won’t be going over it. But Joe and myself are pleased at the quality we have brought in.”

Speaking of his signing of Alex Williams, Roberts was his usual forthright self. “All I want him to do is get back to enjoying his football again. The slate is wiped clean. We need to put a smile back on his face. Alex had the chance to join several other clubs all of whom were offering more money but he chose Clyde. I’m delighted that he has joined and hopefully he can get back to doing what he is best at:scoring goals.”

Graham was of course speaking on the eve of the start of the season. “We are all looking forward to it. It couldn’t have been a tougher start. Brechin are a big well organised side who will be fired up for the game but we will be ready as well. It will be tough but we will play our style and will not be fearful.”

So the time for talking is over to some it may have seemed like mission impossible but as good as his word Roberts has assembled the squad and put the smile back on the faces of Clyde supporters again.

Graham and Joe are of course happy with the players they have brought to the Club but Clyde fans can continue to play a part in supporting Graham Roberts in maintaining and improving the quality of the squad by joining the Bully Wee Fund. Find out more and join the others at
