Young Ones

Clyde Boss Billy Reid spoke to the website about recent results. “Injuries have greatly affected team selections and it has been a major disappointment. None of us like losing. Our whole back line has been missing and we finished against Partick with six players under twenty. Alex Burns has done very well at sweeper and John Potter has been magnificent in leading the side but in the First division you will not win anything with such a young team.”

Billy continued by focusing on the positive. “It has been good experience for the younger guys, possibly some have sat in the stands and witnessed what the older guys have done and thought it was straight forward. Now they know the pressures that exist and what is asked of a first team player. Tthat can only be good for them. Just like the older players I can’t fault their effort and I have no complaints”.

Billy spoke at length to the Clyde View revealing his thoughts on the campaign and his interview can be read in full in the final edition of this season’s award-winning magazine on Saturday.
