Squad-Building Continues
The selection of no less than six trialists – Kirkintilloch Rob Roy goalkeeper Kevin Bell, former Celtic full back David Pinkowski, Falkirk’s Phil Creaney, ex-St. Johnstone midfielder Mark Ferry, ex-Celtic and St. Johnstone Kevin Welsh and former Killie youth striker John Paul Boyle (pictured) – against Dunfermline Athletic on Tuesday night is an indication of the re-grouping work going on behind the scenes at Broadwood.
That search for new recruits continues, with Manager Billy Reid and his assistant Stuart Balmer using their player knowledge, respectively in Scotland and England, to identify likely candidates to join the Bully Wee ranks.
Added to that, the Club is receiving a considerable number of unsolicited recommendations from scouts, parents and friends of the many young players throughout Scotland who are looking to be fixed up with a new club.
Each of these leads will be followed up. Meanwhile the pre-season build-up continues, with a behind-closed-doors match against East Stirlingshire F.C. on Friday rounding off this week’s preparations.
