Lewis Jamieson struck in the last minute at Broadwood today to give The Bully Wee a deserved share of the spoils against Falkirk after an encouraging and spirited performance.

Danny Lennon made one enforced change to the side which picked up a point against Airdrie last weekend, with emergency loan signing Gary Maley taking the place of Joshua Bradley-Hurst in goals.

The Bairns had an early chance to take the lead when Charlie Telfer was played through one-on-one with Maley, but his effort struck the base of the post.

Maley was then called into action from a corner, pulling off a great reflex save from Anton Dowds’ header, before Nick McAllister hooked the ball off the line.

At the other end Aaron Splaine played a through ball to Ross Cunningham which gave him a good sight of goal. His effort went through Robbie Mutch’s legs, but Falkirk’s keeper got enough of his body on it to take the pace out, and was able to gather at the second attempt.

Maley denied Dowds again following a powerful shot on the turn, before Falkirk took the lead on the 27th minute. A corner delivered to the near post ended up in the back of the net, with Paul Watson claiming the strike, though replays suggest it was an own goal.

Lewis Jamieson created space for himself in the Falkirk box as Clyde looked to hit back, but his effort was held by Mutch.

The visitors came close to doubling their lead just before the interval. Craig McGuffie let fly from distance and his shot took a deflection, but Maley was able to readjust and make a great save with his leg. The ball then fell to Gary Miller, but Jonathan Page made a great block as Maley gathered the rebound.

Dowds passed up another chance when he was found in acres of space at the back post from a Leigh Griffiths free-kick, but headed over the bar.

Clyde began to take the game by the scruff of the neck as the match wore on, and Cuddihy was next to try his luck with a shot from outside the box. Mutch was equal to it, and he also got down low a few minutes later to claim Gregory Tade’s cross driven into the goal mouth.

The Bully Wee persevered and got their reward in the last minute. Scott Rumsby made an excellent challenge to dispossess Jaze Kabia and then beat Telfer to the loose ball. Splaine then won a similar duel against Miller before advancing forward and spreading the ball wide to Jamieson, who took a touch and rifled past Mutch at his near post from a wide angle.
