Recap
Clyde staged a late comeback from two goals down to extend their unbeaten streak to seven games with Robbie Leitch netting a 94th minute equaliser against East Kilbride this afternoon.
Darren Young unsurprisingly named an unchanged side from last Saturday’s win over Stirling Albion, with Darren Lyon returning to fitness on the bench.
Clyde shot into a strong wind in the first 45, with the weather conditions making life difficult. The opening stages were cagey with not much in the way of chances at either end.
The visitors took the lead with five minutes of the first half remaining. Lewis Spence was slipped through on goal, and he placed a low shot across Jay Hogarth and into the corner of the net.
Clyde went up the other end immediately looking for an equaliser when Craig Howie was crudely pushed in the back by Joao Balde in full view of referee Cameron Stirling, but the whistler marked a weak officiating display by failing to award the spot kick.
James Hilton had a chance immediately after the restart, but Freddie Owens denied his fierce effort on target.
East Kilbride doubled their advantage six minutes into the second half when Nathan Flanagan got the final touch and netted from close range after a scramble in the box.
Clyde tried to fight back and Tommy Robson got into a good position but shot over, and then Scott Williamson saw a header clip the top of the crossbar.
The Bully Wee pulled one back with a quarter of an hour to go as Robson netted his first goal for the club. The left-back swivelled in the box and fired high into the net, sparking energy into the Clyde team.
Ex-Clyde striker Connor Young saw his powerful free-kick right on the edge of the box crack off the post, and Kilby were to pay for it as the game entered the fourth minute of stoppage time.
In dramatic style Taylor Sutherland drove clear of the EK defence and cut into the box, before unselfishly squaring it to fellow sub Robbie Leitch who composed himself and fired home, sparking a big celebration in the Clyde support.
