Recap
Barry Ferguson’s reign as Clyde manager got off to a winning start this afternoon as the Bully Wee comfortably saw off East Kilbride.
Ferguson handed debuts to new signings Scott Durie, David Gray and David Sinclair but opted to leave himself out of the squad.
East Kilbride started well, however, Clyde quickly grew into the game and took the lead when new signing Gray fed Kevin Watt who beat his man before calmly slotting the ball by the Iain Stewart in the East Kilbride goal from just inside the box.
Scott Ferguson threatened the East Kilbride defence with some dangerous runs but it was centre half Brian McQueen who put Clyde 2-0 ahead when a Sinclair corner fell to him in the box.
Watt grabbed his second of the match shortly after half time when he found the top corner after a low cross from Durie.
Ferguson had the chance to add a fourth but fired wide from close range while at the other end Andrew Johnstone and Craig Hastings both fired narrowly wide.
After an hour Barry Ferguson made a number of changes, bringing on Stuart McColm, Michael Daly, Gary Graham, Fraser McGee, Ross McKinnon, Guiseppe Capuano, Gordon Young and Nic Rajovic.
Clyde added a fourth after 73 minutes when Stuart McColm swung in a dangerous cross and Michael Daly slotted home from close range.
East Kilbride pulled a goal back with just 10 minutes left when a corner fell to centre half Craig Duncan who emphatically smashed it home to complete the scoring.
CLYDE: Barclay (Rajovic), Durie (Trialist), Frances (McKinnon), Marsh (McGhee), McQueen, D Gray (Young), Ferguson (McColm), Sweeney (Capuano), Scullion (Daly), Sinclair (Trialist), Watt (Graham)
