Recap
Clyde looked to build on their last minute heroics against Morton a fortnight previously against a Dunfermline team who had improved considerably under new manager Jim McIntyre.
Their improvement was evident in the opening exchanges when Burchill and Crawford both tested Hutton from distance.
At the other end Paul Gallagher produced a great save from David McGowan after the youngster had met a right footed Campbell cross well at the back post.
Playing with a strong wind, the visitors took the lead on 12 minutes. A poor kick out by Hutton was picked up in midfield by Phinn, who played out wide to Burk, who thin drill, a cross-field pass to Simmons in the box. The ex Hearts man had stolen a yard on that static Campbell and headed expertly in to the top corner from 12 yards.
Given the conditions it would be vital that Clyde would not give anything more away before half-time, but again they would lose a goal that had more to do with themselves than the opposition.
A very poor Fagan pass was picked off in midfield by Glass whose speculative 30 yard drive was only parried by Hutton, and Burchil was on hand to tap home, leaving Clyde an uphill struggle to get anything from the game, even with a strong wind advantage in the second half.
They did however, try to get back in the game, and again Clarke was looking the man most likely to do it.
One fine run down the right wing saw his cross blocked by Wilson, Clarke was first to the rebound, but Gallagher saved his angled drive well.
Clarke would then flick on a deep McGregor free kick to the onrushing Gibson, but the midfielder’s first touch was heavy and Gallagher saved well at his feet.
Clyde were thrown a lifeline midway through the second half, when Scott Wilson felled the impressive McGowan in the box. Clarke would make no mistake from the spot for his first goal in Clyde colours.
Clyde’s final attempt to draw level, again came from Clarke, when his volley from McKay’s deep cross was again saved by Gallagher.
