Dougie was recently confirmed as John's assistant following a three year spell as a coach. Having played with the club in the early 1990s, he returned in 2005 to take the Under-19 side and has been supporting first team activities since.
Throughout his career as a midfielder he played for many clubs, across three countries; Scotland, England and Ireland. He is probably best known for a six year spell with Aberdeen in the 1980s.
