Nathan started off his career in the youth ranks at Alloa Athletic, going on to make a handful of first team appearances for The Wasps. His first serious exposure to senior football came through two loan spells; first at Benburb (where he played alongside fellow summer signing Lewis Lovering), and then fellow League Two side Forfar Athletic.

It was from the latter that Cannon joined Clyde; initially signed on loan at the tail end of last season’s winter loan window, he made over a dozen appearances across the remainder of the campaign, scoring once. The rangy forward negotiated an early release from his contract with the Angus club in June, with Darren Young bringing him back to The Bully Wee shortly thereafter.

Nathan signed a one-year deal, due to expire in summer 2027.
