Jude signed for Clyde in October, to provide cover and competition in the goalkeeping department.

Having started out his career as a youth player at Celtic, he is no stranger to Bully Wee manager Darren Young, who offered him his first experience of the senior game with East Fife in 2022. Smith’s form for The Fifers across the following two campaigns attracted the attention of a clutch of big clubs, with Newcastle United winning the race for his signature and paying a reported five-figure fee to do so. He would move on to Carlisle United after failing to break into the first-team picture at the Premier League side, but endured an injury-interrupted spell at the Cumbrian side prior to his departure in February 2026.

Jude initially penned a short-term deal with the club, which runs until January 2027.
