Hynes joined The Bully Wee on an 18-month deal on his 24th birthday in January 2023. The right-back came through the academy at Greenock Morton and made 37 appearances for the Cappielow club before signing for Clyde.

Glasgow born Darren was reunited with Jim Duffy, who handed him his senior debut in 2018.

Hynes is also comfortable playing in the middle of the park in addition to his customary full-back role.
