Club Statement: Unacceptable Conduct
The club is disappointed to once again have to address unacceptable behaviour from a small number of supporters at recent fixtures.
We all want Clyde to be a club we’re proud of – with supporters backing the team loudly for 90 minutes. The vast majority already do that brilliantly every week, and your support makes a real difference to Darren Young and the players.
However, a small number of incidents have been reported involving abusive, discriminatory, and homophobic language from the stands. This behaviour has no place in supporting Clyde, whether at home or away, and it actively harms the club.
As a supporter-owned club, we all share responsibility for the kind of atmosphere we create. We’re working hard to grow the next generation of Bully Wee fans, and our Foundation has recently stepped-up efforts to attract new supporters to matches. We want families to feel welcome, new fans to keep coming back, and everyone in our ground to enjoy the game without feeling uncomfortable or intimidated.
If you witness behaviour that crosses the line, please report it immediately to a steward or contact the club confidentially by emailing info@clydefc.co.uk. All reports are treated in the strictest confidence and will be acted upon.
If you’re ever with friends who step over the mark, please speak to them and remind them of the standards expected. We need everyone’s support to eradicate this type of behaviour.
Clyde FC operates a zero-tolerance policy towards abusive or discriminatory behaviour of any kind. Anyone found responsible will face sanctions, including potential stadium bans. Our Unacceptable Behaviour Policy is available to read.
To the huge majority of supporters who continue to represent the club in the right way – thank you. We have a big game this Saturday against league leaders Spartans, and we’re hoping to see a large and noisy Clyde support through in Edinburgh backing the team the right way.
