NEW SIGNING: Jay Hogarth
The club is pleased to announce the signing of Jay Hogarth on a one-year deal, subject to SFA approval.
The goalkeeper played as a trialist during Tuesday’s Premier Sports Cup tie against Stenhousemuir and capped an impressive performance with two saves in the penalty shoot-out as Clyde took a bonus point.
Jay, who turned 22 last week, came through the academy at Rangers before leaving Ibrox in the summer. He gained significant SPFL experience with loan spells at Alloa Athletic and Dumbarton, and has also been capped at under-21 level by Scotland.
Darren Young commented:-
“Jay came in and put in a great performance on Tuesday night, keeping us in the game then making two great saves in the shootout. He’s a quality ‘keeper and I’m delighted we can bring someone of his calibre in to the squad. We’re still waiting on an x-ray to determine if Brian has broken ribs but we expect to be without him for a number of weeks regardless, so it’s great to welcome Jay in and it gives us good competition in the goalkeeping department.”
