Trio Sign On
The club is pleased to announce that three players have penned new deals with The Bully Wee ahead of the 2025-26 season.
Kyle Connell and Brian Kinnear have both signed one-year deals, whilst Marley Redfern has extended his contract until the summer of 2027.
Goalkeeper Kinnear joined Clyde in February 2024 and kept three clean sheets in ten appearances last season, before a broken foot ended his campaign in September.
Connell was recruited last summer from Cove Rangers and netted three times from 12 starts and 17 sub appearances.
Redfern, 22, also joined Clyde from Hamilton Accies last summer and made 30 appearances, split evenly between starts and outings off the bench. He scored five goals and chipped in with 4 assists.
Darren Young commented after the trio put pen to paper:-
“Brian will be like signing a new ‘keeper. He was very unfortunate with his injury, having broken his metatarsal early in the season and it didn’t heal properly, which meant he had to go for surgery and missed the rest of the season. On his day he is definitely up there with the best goalkeepers in the league and I’m looking forward to seeing him back playing.
“Kyle has worked very hard with our sports scientist Owen away from the park and training to get himself fully fit and I think that showed towards the end of the season after he had a stop start time with injuries too. He’s got quality and I’ve worked with him before at East Fife, so I know what he is capable of.
“I’m delighted to get Marley signed up for the next two years. He has shown in the last few games how good a player he can be when he’s fully fit and running at opposition full-backs. He’s also worked hard when he was out injured and came back looking stronger, and I’m sure he’ll be a big player for us next season.”
