NEW SIGNING: Sam Campbell
The club is pleased to announce the signing of central defender Sam Campbell, subject to SFA approval.
The 20-year-old joins from East Stirlingshire after an impressive campaign with the Falkirk side, winning their Supporters Player of the Year, and Young Player of the Year awards last season.
Campbell came through the academy at Motherwell, making the bench for the Fir Park side several times as a 17-year-old. He later had a loan spell at Annan Athletic, before leaving The Steelmen in January 2024 to join The Shire.
Campbell has put pen to paper on a two-year contract with The Bully Wee.
Darren Young was delighted to get Sam signed up:-
“Sam is a big strong centre-half, left footed and left sided, and someone I’ve known about for the last couple of years. He did very well last season and was one of the best defenders in the Lowland League; I know people who have played with him and against him and they all spoke very highly of Sam.
“I’ve kept an eye on him and we had him in for training towards the end of last season. He’s a good character and fitted in well with the team, and I’m looking forward to seeing him develop further.”
