PREVIEW: Clyde v Stranraer

Clyde welcome Stranraer to New Douglas Park in tomorrow’s William Hill League 2 clash.

The Bully Wee could potentially climb from ninth to seventh place with victory while Stranraer could see themselves move into sixth place.

Darren Young’s side are winless in their last four, but are unbeaten in ten of their 12 home matches, winning five, drawing five and losing just two. However, since their last meeting against the visitors at Stair Park, they have only won one of their last five.

Stranraer will travel to Hamilton after securing their first home win since September last weekend. The Blues have not won back-to-back league games since September 2023 and will be aiming to end a 17-month wait.

Despite winning two of their last five, the Blues have not won an away match against Clyde in eight years with the last victory being a Challenge Cup tie in August 2017.

The most recent encounter in Dumfries and Galloway resulted in a draw as Mark Russell’s equaliser from the spot with less than 20 minutes remaining cancelled out Jordan Allan’s first half opener.

Clyde were the victors in the first meeting between the sides this season in August. It was another tight affair with Ray Grant’s header sealing the three points.

Clyde have won 29, drew 27 and lost 20 of 76 matches played. They have not lost a league match at home to Stranraer since May 1998.
