Board Update
Clyde Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of John Taylor as Club Chairman.
John is no stranger to the Clyde support, being the longest serving board member at the club, with almost 40 years contribution as a director and also as former club secretary. During that time he has amassed a vast knowledge of the club’s operations and the wider game in general.
The Board feel that it was important to formally recognise the role that John plays at the club. We appreciate the calm professionalism that John brings to the club, which in turn benefits from his tireless effort and reliable delivery.
On his appointment as Chair, John said:-
“We all share the same goal, that of restoring our club’s fortunes and standing in the Scottish game.
“That’s no easy task, but with a capable and respected manager, and a squad motivated to succeed I believe we can have a good second half to the season. If that ends in consolidation come May, then we will go into next season with promotion to League One the clear target.
“I believe we have a Board that is cohesive, engaged and determined to move the club forward. Supporting the board, we are fortunate to have a fantastic group of volunteers who, along with our loyal fans, can play their part in putting the disappointment of the last two seasons behind us as we begin our journey upwards.”
As well as John’s appointment as Chairman, we are also pleased to welcome back Bryan Macpherson as the club’s Governance Director. Bryan said:-
“I’m deeply gratified to have been welcomed back to the club Board.
“Although my absence was relatively brief, there have been numerous changes in personnel in the interim and its apparent I’m rejoining a team which is now more capable than ever of meeting the challenges the club faces.
“I look forward to recommencing my role and playing my part in what we all trust will be a more stable and successful time for our club on and off the park.”
