George Herd

All at the club are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our former player George Herd this evening.

George joined Clyde in May 1957, and scored 32 goals in 171 appearances before signing for Sunderland four years later.

He won the Scottish Cup in 1958 as well as the Glasgow Cup and Glasgow Charity Cup later that year. George also earned five international caps for Scotland whilst at Shawfield.

George was inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame in 2011.
