PREVIEW: Clyde v East Fife
The Bully Wee will face off against East Fife again this evening in the second leg of the cinch League 1 playoff semi-final, with a place in the final awaiting the winner of the tie.
Clyde hold a narrow advantage from Tuesday evening, with Martin Rennie’s goal securing the win at Bayview.
Jim Duffy has a number of injury concerns but a decision will be made on the squad closer to kick off. One player whose season has ended is Neil Parry, with the ‘keeper suffering a broken finger in training.
The Clyde manager spoke ahead of the game:-
“Tuesday was a tough match with chances for both teams. Fortunately we took one of ours and at the other end Ryan pulled off a few great saves. These playoff games are highly competitive, very difficult and invariably very tight. That’s the way it was on Tuesday night and I expect the same tonight.
“East Fife are a good team who have recorded a lot of positive results this year and have a squad of very good players. We’ve got our noses just in front and we’ll need to be as resilient as we were in the first leg and still play a wee bit better to make sure we progress to the final.
“The supporters were terrific on Tuesday, they got right behind the team and that always makes a difference, no matter at what level of football you play. If you’ve got that strong positive support behind you it gives you that wee bit extra energy, especially when you’re tired.”
