PREVIEW: Clyde v FC Edinburgh

The Bully Wee return to action tomorrow for their third home game in a row, as they welcome FC Edinburgh to New Douglas Park.

The Citizens have made an impressive start to life in cinch League 1 and currently sit third in the table, though they also exited the Scottish Cup last week to Drumchapel United. Edinburgh won the earlier meeting between the sides this season; a 2-0 victory at Meadowbank in August.

Ross Lyon is nearing a return to action but Ryan Mullen (hamstring), Nathan Nyamsi (groin) and Ross Cunningham (ankle) remain out along with Conner Duthie who continues with his rehabilitation programme after surgery. Peter Grant will also miss the game through suspension, after accumulating six yellow cards.

Jim Duffy spoke to the official website ahead of the game:-

“I was bitterly disappointed last week. In any cup competition it’s just about getting through to the next round and performances don’t always relate to that, but our performance was way below the standard we’ve set in recent weeks.

“Edinburgh have had a great season in the league and have been very consistent since winning promotion. I’m sure they’ll be delighted with the progress they’ve made since coming through the pyramid and we’ll have our work cut out if we want to earn a good result.”
