NEW SIGNING: Erik Sula

The club is pleased to announce the signing of 6-foot 4-inch Slovak centre-back Erik Sula.

The 27-year-old began his career at hometown club Poprad where he made 60 appearances, before crossing the border and spending two seasons with Czech outfit Fotbal Třinec.

Erik returned to Slovakia in 2020, and has spent each of the past two campaigns in the country’s top flight with Nitra and Zemplin Michalovce, where he played alongside ex-Bully Wee ‘keeper Matej Vajs.

Erik featured in Clyde’s pre-season preparations and has now penned a one-year contract following the approval of paperwork.

Danny Lennon spoke to the official website after Erik signed on:-

“Erik has been with us since the start of pre-season and fitted into the group very well. Steven Thicot has taken him under his wing and been brilliant at helping him settle in. Erik is struggling with his English, but his Scottish is coming on a treat!

“We’re excited at what he can bring for us on the pitch. He fits the mould of a proper centre half being strong and dominant, but has technical ability alongside that.”

The club can also confirm that Cammy Ross has left Clyde. The winger joined The Bully Wee on a short-term amateur deal after spending pre-season with the club and scored the winning goal in a friendly against Partick Thistle. All at the club would like to thank Cammy for his efforts and wish him the best for his future career.
