NEW SIGNING: Steven Thicot

The club is pleased to announce the signing of French centre-back Steven Thicot.

Thicot came through the academy at Nantes and captained a France under-17 side containing Karim Benzema, Hatem Ben Arfa and Samir Nasri to silverware in the 2004 UEFA European Championship.

The Frenchman then spent three years in Scotland with Hibs, and played in a pre-season friendly against The Bully Wee in 2008. Following his stint in Edinburgh he travelled around the globe and played on three continents, with spells at clubs in Portugal, Greece, Romania, Malaysia, USA, and most recently Lithuania.

The 35-year-old has agreed a one-year deal with Clyde and Danny Lennon spoke to the official website after capturing his signature:-

“I liked Steven when he played for Hibs for a few seasons. We’ve had him training with us for weeks now to have a good look at him. He is incredibly fit and has a good physical presence about him. He has tremendous technical ability for a big centre half and will suit our passing game well. He is a positive character and will have a positive influence on the squad next season. We’re really looking forward to seeing him in a Clyde jersey.”
