PREVIEW: Montrose v Clyde

Clyde play their first away league game of the cinch League 1 season as we travel to Links Park to face Montrose this afternoon.

The Bully Wee will be looking to put last Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Dumbarton behind them quickly while the hosts will want to build on their winning start to the season, as they defeated Airdrieonians 3-0 in their opening fixture.

Marky Munro is available to go straight into the matchday squad, while Gregory Tade is doubtful again and Jonathan Page remains out through injury.

Danny Lennon spoke to the official website ahead of the game:-

“I was bitterly disappointed last Saturday. I’ve reflected on it and as much as the emotions were high after the game we have to now do our best to bounce back and put things right. I can’t see us being as bad as that again, and that was the biggest thing that got me how collectively we had so many poor performances on the day. I’m making no excuses for it being early in the season, I felt very disappointed for the fans that came to watch.

“What I’ve seen this week is a hungry group of players that are trying to put something that went terribly wrong last Saturday right, that reaction is all that I can ask for. We’re looking to get our own season underway, and that has to start by being difficult to beat, stop giving away soft goals and taking every opportunity.

“Montrose have been a team that’s impressed me. They might have tweaked their system a bit this season, but every team has strengths and every team has weaknesses and we have to make sure that we exploit those weaknesses and bring our own strengths. We’ll be concentrating on what we can bring to the game, we have had close encounters in the past against Montrose and this time won’t be any different.”
