PREVIEW: Clyde v Alloa Athletic
Clyde are back in cinch League 1 action this afternoon as Alloa Athletic visit Broadwood Stadium.
The Wasps, managed by ex-Clyde gaffer Barry Ferguson, currently sit 6th place in the table, with one win and a loss. Clyde are bottom of the league with one point right now after last Saturday’s draw against Montrose.
Barry Cuddihy will miss this match through suspension after his red card last week, and Jonathan Page is still out injured. Gregory Tade continues his recovery and is doubtful to be included in the matchday squad, while youngster Kai McCormack is set to go out on loan to Lowland League side Cumbernauld Colts.
Danny Lennon spoke to the official website ahead of the game:-
“The game away to Montrose went to plan in the first half, in terms of us being harder to break down and being difficult to score against, and the fighting spirit that the players and the fans showed in the closing stages is also massively important. We showed the quality in the final third I know that we have.
“You then go onto Wednesday which was a real disappointment all around so we are under no illusions that there is still work to be done at both ends of the pitch and there’s a lot more to come from this group of players as they gel together. It’s going to be a really competitive and tight season and our aim is to show that we can compete, earn points and thrive in this league.
“Alloa have also had a big turnover this season, in terms of squad and management and that takes a bit of time to come together. I hope that it is a good game of football for the supporters but we need to make sure that we bring our strengths for the whole 90 minutes.”
