PREVIEW: Clyde v Stranraer

Clyde return to competitive action tonight, as Stranraer visit Broadwood in the Premier Sports Cup group stage.

This will be the first match for both sides in the tournament; Stranraer were awarded a 3-0 win after Morton had to forfeit their tie for being unable to play the fixture due to a Covid-19 outbreak.

Danny Lennon should have all summer signing available to select, as there are no injury concerns going into the match.

The Clyde manager spoke to the official website ahead of the game:-

“We are all raring to go. Pre-season has gone particularly well for us, there’s a lot of new faces and having to deal with the transition of players coming and going. The quality of training session has been great and so has the quality of performances leading to good results, however we now need to take that up another notch or two to deal with the challenges of competitive football.

“I’m excited about the squad we’ve assembled and the personalities and the quality of the players. We have to continue that strong work ethic and focus our application in everything that we do if we are going to make it a positive season to remember.

“The biggest thing that does excite me about the game tonight is the fans. I can hardly express how excited I am about playing in front of the fans again. The fabulous club history shows what the club is about and that is the supporters, having them cheer us on again is the biggest thing I am looking forward to tonight.”
