Tommy Louden
All at the club were saddened to hear of the death of lifelong Clyde fan Tommy Louden at the age of 93 on Friday after a period of ill-health.
Affectionately known as “Wee Tommy” due to his small stature, Tommy was a larger-than-life individual who always had a smile on his face and many a story to tell about the fantastic Clyde teams of the 1940s, 50s and 60s, and his favourite players such as Harry Haddock, Albert Murphy and Tommy Ring.
Tommy was an ever present at both home games – from Shawfield to Broadwood, with the Gypsy Army days in between – and also away games, travelling the country from north to south on the Castlemilk Branch of which he was a founder member in the 1960s. Only failing health in the last couple of years prevented popular Tommy taking his usual seat at Broadwood to watch his beloved Bully Wee.
Details of the funeral arrangements will be announced in due course. The thoughts of everyone at the club go out to Tommy’s family and friends at this difficult time.
