NEW SIGNING: Conrad Balatoni
The club is pleased to announce the signing of Conrad Balatoni on an initial one-year contract.
The central defender began his career with Hearts and gained experience on loan at Partick Thistle. He joined The Jags on a permanent basis in 2012 and helped them win promotion to the Premiership the following year.
The 30-year-old moved to Kilmarnock in 2015 and had subsequent spells at Ayr United, Falkirk and Torquay United. Conrad most recently played with Edinburgh City, spending three seasons with the capital side.
Danny Lennon spoke to the official website after capturing the signature of Balatoni:-
“Conrad ticks all the boxes for what we are looking for in a centre half to take the club forward. He has played the majority of his career at Premiership and Championship level. He is a ball playing centre half, always looking to get on the ball and contribute positively. He also attacks the ball well and is a big presence in both boxes. To add to all that, he has great character and leadership qualities, which are so important.
“I have watched him keenly throughout his career. It is no coincidence that in his three years at Edinburgh City they reached the promotion play offs each year, where his drive, leadership and technical qualities had a positive impact, game after game. He will suit our style of play very well.”
