PREVIEW: East Fife v Clyde
Clyde play a rare Thursday night game today, with a trip to New Bayview to face East Fife in League 1.
The sides met as recently as less than a fortnight ago, when The Fifers won 3-1 at Broadwood in the first game back after the league restarted.
For The Bully Wee, Tom Lang continues to recover from the head injury he suffered at Montrose and will miss this fixture, while David Goodwillie also remains a doubt.
Danny Lennon spoke to the official website ahead of the game, firstly addressing the injury to club captain Goodwillie:-
We’ll assess Goodie today, but he is making progress. It’s one where you have to trust the player to manage himself and he’ll assess himself along with the medical staff. We don’t want to lose him longer term.”
Looking ahead to the match, Danny continued:-
“Everyone’s near enough in the same position just now, with fixtures coming thick and fast. It’s important that we get points on the board and it’s pleasing that we’ve given ourselves a foundation to do so. What’s important in every game is that we continue to build on that; there’s been a lot of pleasing aspects from the past couple of games.
“The energy that the young players bring, combined with the experience of the slightly older ones… it’s about getting that chemistry right on the pitch and I’m happy that we’ve done that in the past three games. However. there’s a long, long way to go and a lot of hard work still in front of us.”
