Josh Happy With Winning Start
Josh Jack spoke to the press following Clyde’s 3-2 victory in the Betfred Cup Group E match against Dumbarton on Saturday.
Jack put in an assured performance on his debut for The Bully Wee, including providing an assist for the third goal.
The on loan St. Mirren player reflected on what was a good Clyde performance overall, but said that he was disappointed with the way the two goals were conceded:-
“I felt we were in control for most of the game, but at set pieces they were a danger. It’s a bit annoying to lose those goals and make the match tighter at the end than it should have been.
“I think going 3-1 up at half-time might have been the problem, maybe we came out thinking the game was finished. They are a difficult team to defend against from set plays, but I think overall we can be happy with our performance.”
The 20-year-old continued by talking about how he has settled into the club:-
“I’m enjoying playing here, I’m loving it. I just want to get involved and score goals as well – I was disappointed not to get one today as I want to bring that to the team as well, but I’m happy with an assist.”
To conclude, Jack mentioned how he felt about playing behind closed doors:-
“It’s strange, but if I’m honest, as I’ve come from playing reserve football it’s not much different to me. It is annoying though as I want to experience what the fans are like and play in front of them. I hear the club has a great following, so I can’t wait until they’re allowed back in.”
