Clyde 3-1 Rangers XI

The Bully Wee concluded their pre-season schedule with a convincing victory over a Rangers XI at Broadwood this afternoon.

Clyde opened the scoring in the 18th minute when Ross Cunningham played a through ball to David Goodwillie, and he expertly fired past the Rangers ‘keeper.

The lead was doubled with 27 minutes played and this time the roles were reversed. Goodwillie, on the edge of the centre circle, backheeled the ball into the path of the onrushing Cunningham, and he raced clear to slot home.

It was 3-0 just before the interval with Chris Johnston showing some good feet in the box and turning his opponent. He squared to Goodwillie who flicked on to Josh Jack, and the youngster on loan from St Mirren tapped into an empty net.

The young Gers side pulled a goal back right after half-time when Ross McCausland ran in behind the defence and beat David Wilson.
