PREVIEW: Stirling Albion v Clyde
Clyde make the short trip to Forthbank tomorrow, to take on Stirling Albion in the William Hill Scottish Cup.
The Bully Wee are aiming to reach the all-important fourth round of the tournament, for the first time since the 2016-17 campaign.
A few players are set to come back into the squad, with Chris Johnston, David Goodwillie and Alex Petkov expected to return after missing last week’s Challenge Cup match in Inverness.
Danny Lennon spoke to the official ahead of the cup tie:-
“I’m very much looking forward to the game. I thought how we played last week, and the character we showed, was excellent for the 90 minutes. We’ve proven a number of times now our true qualities against teams sitting above us.
“The Scottish Cup is a wonderful competition and you always want to be in amongst it and in the next round when all of the teams from the higher leagues come in. Cup football is entirely different from the league; there’s a different approach and mindset required for these games, which is certainly one I enjoy.
“It’s a one off match tomorrow and it’ll be who brings their best on the day. We firstly need to have the right attitude and in turn show our best qualities and strengths that we know each of the players possess.
“I thought the fans were superb last week, especially considering how far it is to travel. We might have not got the result that we wanted, but the supporters could see that we put everything into the game and backed us for the full duration. I’m in no doubt that it’ll be the same again tomorrow at Forthbank.”
Admission prices at Forthbank are; adults £14, concessions £10, under-16s £5 and under-12s FREE (when accompanied by a paying adult). If a replay is required, it will take place at Broadwood on Tuesday 3rd December.
