Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup

The SPFL has today announced Thomas Tunnock Limited as the new sponsor of the Scottish Challenge Cup.

The deal with the world-famous Scottish family business will see the competition renamed as The Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup for the 2019-20 season.

The new partnership was announced at Tunnock’s iconic factory in Uddingston, where the draw for the first and second rounds of the competition were presided over by Tunnock’s Chairman and owner Sir Boyd Tunnock, SPFL Chief Executive Neil Doncaster and former Scotland international Billy Dodds.

This season, the competition will involve 58 teams. All Ladbrokes Championship, Ladbrokes League One and Ladbrokes League Two clubs will be joined by eight teams from the Highland Football League and Lowland Football League, all under-21 colt teams from the 12 Ladbrokes Premiership clubs, and two clubs from each of the English National League, Northern Irish Premiership, League of Ireland and Welsh Premier League.

Clyde will enter the competition at the Second Round (South) stage and have been drawn at home to either Motherwell Colts or Spartans, who meet in the first round. The tie will take place at Broadwood on Tuesday 13th August.
