Sports Dinner Raises £5,000
A successful Clyde FC Sports Dinner 2019 was held last weekend in Glasgow.
Around 160 people attended the event at the BAaD venue and the feedback received from those in attendance has been once again very positive.
Following an enjoyable five-course meal, speakers Tam McManus and Sheriff Lindsay Wood both entertained the crowd in their own and contrasting styles. The master of ceremonies for the event was lifelong Clyde supporter, Dougie Donnelly who handled the occasion with his usual professionalism and enthusiasm throughout.
Club director and event organiser, Gordon Nisbet said:-
“Our annual dinner always has two aims; to raise valuable funds for the club and to provide everyone in attendance with an enjoyable night. Thankfully we managed to achieve that on both fronts, albeit the sum of £5,000 raised was more modest than the previous dinner.
“I’d like to thank everyone who contributed, in many ways, to the success of the event. A special mention goes to club director, Claire Thornber and our club chaplain, John MacKinnon for their valuable assistance in the smooth running of the evening.”
