Holmes Family’s Cycle Challenge

Clyde supporters Rory, Callum and Gareth Holmes are getting ready to take part in a unique personal challenge, with the aim of raising funds for The Bully Wee at the same time.

Following two eventful trips to Peterhead previously, Rory (pictured left) decided that he would make the upcoming Ladbrokes League 2 match at Balmoor Stadium out of the ordinary again, by cycling there from Broadwood.

His brother, Callum and father, Gareth have now decided to join Rory on Friday 17th August, as they set off on a 186-mile route to reach Peterhead in time for the match the following day.

Rory previously cycled from Hampden to Wembley to raise funds for the Tartan Army Children’s Charity. He said:-

“I believe in ‘third time lucky’ – my two previous trips to Peterhead have resulted in the match being postponed close to kick-off after I arrived in the town, due to a snow blizzard. Then, my most recent trip last season resulted in an overnight stay on the M80 onboard a Megabus.

“This has the potential to be a very memorable season for the club and I want to do something to hopefully help Danny, the staff and the players that little bit more. My hope is that fellow supporters will support us by pledging to the cycle, with any monies raised being transferred directly to the club.”

Everyone at the club wishes the Holmes family well on their journey. To support them, you can make a donation via their Crowdfunder page.
