Clyde 2-0 Hamilton Academical

The Bully Wee concluded their pre-season friendly schedule with a 2-0 victory over Scottish Premiership side Hamilton Academical at Broadwood this afternoon.

Clyde opened the scoring inside five minutes when Mark Lamont’s cross found Ally Love at the back post. Love’s effort was parried by Accies’ goalkeeper Gary Woods into the path of David Goodwillie, who prodded the rebound home from close range.

Goodwillie doubled his tally eleven minutes before half-time. He got on the end of Jordan Stewart’s ball over the Hamilton rear guard, and shrugged off the attention of two defenders, to slot past the advancing Woods.

The visitors made nine changes at the interval and began to dominate possession as the game wore on but were unable to find the back of the net, with the crossbar and then an excellent save from Kieran Hughes denying them.
