Danny Pleased with Squad Progress
Danny Lennon spoke to the official website today, following another busy week of pre-season preparations.
Four more additions to the squad were confirmed in the last seven days – Joe Gorman, Eddie Ferns, Kieran Hughes and Jack Boyle – and the Clyde boss commented on the player retention and recruitment process:-
“We are still actively pursuing some options to complete the squad for the coming season, but I am incredibly pleased with the group we have assembled thus far. I believe it is an exciting blend of young, talented, hungry players with an appetite to improve their standing in the game and experienced pros who will provide leadership and quality contributions.
“I would like to thank the chairman, board, all the coaching staff and the supporters for the tremendous amount of work they have put in to generating a squad capable of significantly improving on last season and taking the club forward.
“In order for the club to move forward and get to where we want to be, I said at the end of last season, we need everyone associated with this great club to work together strongly as a team. I believe the early signs are that we are doing exactly that. Long may it continue.”
The week concluded with a closed door match against a young St. Mirren side at Broadwood this afternoon. Danny added:-
“The players and the coaching staff are working relentlessly together to ensure that we evolve, improve and produce performances and results individually and collectively throughout this season.”
