Danny Delighted at Rankin Capture

Clyde manager Danny Lennon spoke to the official website after capturing the signature of midfielder John Rankin.

“John’s football story is a fascinating one.” he said. “From his youth development days at Manchester United and Corinthians in Brazil, through to taking Dundee United into Europe and scoring winning goals against the biggest clubs in Scotland.

“Together, we are looking to continue that exciting story with John, adding some more wonderful moments to come in this chapter of his story here at Clyde FC.”

Lennon also discussed his goals for the upcoming season:-

“It has been a busy off season so far, as we have been working incredibly hard to build a squad that will improve on last season.

“The second half of the season was pleasing, where our run of performances and results elevated us several places up the league. Our aim for next season is to build on that foundation and achieve an improved run of performances and results consistently throughout the season, to allow our club the right to earn a higher standing in Scottish football.”

Danny concluded by commenting on the players assembled thus far, and his plans for further recruitment:-

“We are delighted to have retained key players for us from that second half of the season, whom I believe we will see enhance their reputations further in the coming season. We are also deeply pleased to have added some exciting new faces to the squad, who all bring desirable qualities to the party. Qualities that were missing from the squad last year that will now allow us to create fully the brand of football we want to see associated with Clyde FC.

“We are still actively working away to further enhance the squad and we will be looking for that work to come to fruition soon. So, watch this space.”
