Jack Values ‘Massive Experience’

Jack Boyle spoke to the press following Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Stirling Albion in Ladbrokes League 2.

The on loan Huddersfield Town man got both of Clyde’s goals, which were also his first at Broadwood, in a Man of the Match performance.

“It was a tough game,” he said. “I thought we started off well for the first 20 minutes, then they changed it up a bit and started pressing us. At half-time we had to work out a plan to get going again. We got a bit of luck and eventually the goals to win it.”

The 20-year-old was substituted near the end of the match and was given a standing ovation by The Bully Wee supporters. He continued:-

“It’s a big boost when you’ve got all the fans backing you. You’ll always have some bad games as well as good games, but they stick by you in the bad games as well. It was good to get two goals today.”

Boyle also spoke about playing first team football on a regular basis:-

“It definitely helps. Winning here means more than in the under-23s at Huddersfield. It’s a massive experience for young players.”

There was a bit of confusion when the ball hit the net for the second goal and Jack described his view of it all:-

“I put the ball in, but then looked over at the linesman and thought I was offside. Then Goodwillie ran over and told me it was a goal but I just had to wait to make sure. I didn’t really know what was going on.”

To conclude, Jack was asked if he felt that it was his best performance in a Clyde jersey:-

“I would say so, yeah. It was my first properly dominating performance. I started off well and once I got the first goal I started to move a bit quicker, because you’ve got that confidence, which helped me get the second goal.”
