David Named Player of the Year
David Goodwillie has been named as the Clyde FC Player of the Year for 2017-18.
The forward, who has scored 25 goals so far this season, was presented with the trophy at the Awards Night which took place in the new Arria Lounge at Broadwood yesterday evening.
David was selected for the award following a vote by supporters at the home match against Montrose recently. Barry Cuddihy was second and Martin McNiff was third.
Also during the event, Neil Hood was officially welcomed into the club’s Hall of Fame. Neil was in attendance with members of his family and gave a moving speech, describing himself as a “Clyde man through and through.”
There were tributes to Neil from club historian Gordon Sydney, his former manager Craig Brown and his ex-teammate and lifelong friend John Brogan.
Five other presentations were made throughout the evening:-
- Goal of the Season – Mark Lamont (v Montrose 24th March)
- Castlemilk Branch Player of the Year – David Goodwillie
- Executive Club Player of the Year – David Goodwillie
- Supporter Recognition Award – Grace Donald
- Community Foundation Recognition Award – Stuart Aitchison
