Claire Thornber Co-opted to Board
The club is pleased to announce that Claire Thornber has accepted its invitation to join the board of directors.
Claire is a solicitor advocate who specialises in commercial litigation. She recently joined Weightmans (Scotland) LLP as a partner, having previously spent her legal career with two large commercial firms.
Claire has a keen interest in sport and is a participant in many different activities, including the Stirling Scottish Marathon.
Clyde chairman, Norrie Innes said:-
“I am absolutely delighted to welcome Claire onto the Board as a co-opted director. Claire will bring great human and professional qualities to the Club and will help the Board to optimise its performance in directing the Club forward.
“The legislative and regulatory demands are becoming more amplified with each season. It is now critical that the Board is populated by skilled and committed volunteers, with their respective roles and responsibilities. Much of their dedicated work occupies time between games and during the close seasons. We will continue to create the conditions for the Club to gain the best possible opportunity for promotion into Scottish Football’s higher levels.
“The recruitment of strong and good people, with intelligent and balanced ways, will allow us to achieve this and to continue to be helpful and supportive to our social and footballing community. Claire wants to be part of a winning team, which was also very much a key consideration in her appointment.”
Claire was formally co-opted as a director at tonight’s board meeting.
