PREVIEW: Clyde v Montrose

Clyde will host league leaders Montrose at Broadwood tomorrow in Ladbrokes League 2.

The match is very significant for both clubs, with The Gable Endies battling to finish in top spot and The Bully Wee aiming to keep the pressure on the teams above in the play-off race.

For Clyde, club captain Kevin Nicoll will miss the match through suspension, after picking up two bookings in Tuesday night’s match at Edinburgh City.

Danny Lennon said: “Kevin’s been in very good form and we’ll miss him, but he has to manage situations better himself. I’ll take some responsibility for it, but some of needs to come from Kevin as well and learning how to play with a booking.”

On the match, the Clyde manager continued:-

“The fixtures are coming thick and fast for us, but that’s a good thing when you are in good form. Both teams are competing for three very important points. It’s two of the form teams in the league so it’ll be a very competitive game indeed.

“We’ve had quite a turnaround in our league position, but we can’t just let that progress be the story. There’s a lot more to come from this group of players and I believe that our story can be even better. All of us can influence that; the board, the staff, the players and the fans. The challenge is to continue what we’ve all been doing until the last kick of the ball.

“What has really impressed me in recent months is not just the support we’ve had at home, but the away support has been fantastic as well, turning up at places like Annan and Edinburgh on a Tuesday night. It’s a big ‘hats off’ to the fans for that – I can’t emphasise enough how much of a role they play.”
