Mark Thrives on Midfield Role
On-loan Clyde midfielder Mark Lamont spoke to the press following Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Montrose at Broadwood.
The 20-year-old spoke about how important the win was:-
“It was brilliant from the boys,” he said. “We go into every game like that now, thinking we can win it. Our form just now is great and the dressing room is brilliant to be in. I thought we were very good today, it was a really professional performance.”
Lamont scored the first goal of the afternoon and spoke about that strike and changing positions since initially signing from Partick Thistle:-
“I started out on the wing when I first came to the club, but we changed the system and the manager put me in the middle. I’m more familiar there, I like it a lot more.
“For the goal, I got the ball on the half turn and I thought I’d try catch him off his line with an early shot. Thankfully it hit off the post and went in.”
The win took The Bully Wee to within two points of a promotion play-off spot and Mark talked about the feeling within the squad at the moment:-
“The confidence is brilliant just now. We’ve just got to take it one game at a time and see what happens. As long as we keep winning it’s a good thing and after that we can only see what happens.”
