Under-20s: Clyde 2-3 Queen’s Park
The Bully Wee’s under-20 side suffered a narrow defeat in the Development League West on Sunday, as they lost 3-2 to Queen’s Park in their first game in over a month.
Queen’s Park started the brighter side with more of the ball and, 15 minutes into the game, a lack of communication from the defence and the ‘keeper saw the Queen’s Park striker nip in and make it 1-0.
After the goal, Clyde showed some good character and started to get on the ball and pass it well, creating some good attacking patterns. A great, well-worked move after some good possession football saw the ball worked through the units and played out wide for striker Dylan Henry, who played a great cross in the box for fellow striker smart Osadolor to make it 1-1.
Quickly after that, another good move down the left side saw another good cross in the box for Henry to get across the front of The Spiders goalkeeper to knock the ball in and make it 2-1.
Clyde created more chances and had a penalty claim turned down when a shot from the edge of the box seemed to hit the Queen’s Park defender’s outstretched hand, but referee turned it away. Osadolar was also inches away from sliding the ball into the net and grabbing his second of the game before half-time.
The second half was the complete opposite for Clyde and, from the first whistle, the visitors had more energy about them and great movement which caused The Bully Wee problems.
A short back pass put Clyde ‘keeper Matthew Craig under pressure and the away striker nipped in and finished into the far corner to make it 2-2. The, with 20 minutes left, The Spiders took the lead after scoring what looked like a controversial penalty to put them 3-2 up.
The game started to open up towards the final whistle, which saw chances at both ends, but neither team made the most of them.

Speaking to the official website, head coach Tony McInally said: “I was really pleased with the first half, especially as it was our first game since early December. The lads played some really good football and created good chances.
“The second half saw us slip back to not getting the opposition to work for what they got. It was also three poor goals to concede and this week in training we will be working on the players’ fitness levels again due.
“We are now starting to build a very good and young 20s side; half of the squad are only 16 or 17 so it gives us time to work with them. There are already pleasing signs that some are training with the first team and involved in the matchday squads. All of the lads should take confidence from Aaron Millar and his progress.”
