Huddersfield Pair Join on Loan

The club is pleased to announce that Jack Boyle and Dylan Cogill have joined Clyde on loan from Huddersfield Town until the end of the season.

Both men are part of the English Premier League club’s under-23 squad.

Boyle is an attack-minded midfielder and Cogill is a centre half or left-sided defender. The 20-year-olds are already in Scotland and trained with the rest of the first team squad last night. For the period of the loans, the two players will join the group for the Thursday night training session and be available for matchdays.

The deals were completed this evening, ahead of tonight’s transfer window deadline.

Speaking to the official website after concluding the signings, Danny Lennon said:-

“The January transfer window has been an incredibly busy time for us behind the scenes. We have spoken to a number of clubs and analysed a number of players. As it comes to a close, I’m delighted to announce these loan signings. I think it’s a real coup for us as a club, to attract this calibre of young player and have a connection with Huddersfield Town.

“Jack is a very technical player, who likes to play in behind the striker or on the flank. He’s got a reputation for being useful at set plays and for scoring a good number of goals at under-23 level.

“Dylan is a tall centre back, who can also play at left back if required. He’s also been in the Huddersfield set up for a number of years and has played regularly for the under-23 side.

“Both of them understand that they will not be guaranteed to walk into the team. They will have to work to earn the jersey and there are players at the moment who have earned their place in our recent matches. Competition is healthy though and it will certainly enhance us overall.

“I’m sure all of our supporters and everyone associated with the club will join me in wishing Jack and Dylan well during their time at Clyde.”
